MISSION: The Wisconsin Hickory Association (WHA), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, strives to Preserve, Promote and Protect the Hickory tree by engaging stakeholders in enhancing the cultural tradition and economic potential of Hickory. WHA members' assets serve as a resource for Hickory expertise and will drive advancement through promotion, outreach and information dissemination.

In 2014 the University of Wisconsin-Extension of Green Lake County, WI and Wisconsin Hickory Products, Inc. were awarded funding from the UW-Center for Cooperatives to establish a state-level association focused on Hickory. The WHA's goals include coordinating & educating property owners and interested parties who have hickory, want to have hickory, or desire to develop hickory resources. In this age of agro-forestry, we wish to promote the utilization of this naturally occurring resource within Wisconsin.
The inaugural organizational meeting was held on December 13, 2014, where, in addition to discussing the development of the organization's mission and potential by-laws, officers were nominated and elected. The following individuals have stepped forward as charter board members and worked toward the further development of the organization.

Secretary:Position Available Immediately. Responsible for taking notes at each meeting, typing them up for the next meeting and sending to Media Person once approved. Assist with email and hand mail communication, maintain interest/membership listing, Participation in promoting and creating WHA events.

*Position Available May 1st. Responsible for depositing WHA income & dispersing expenses and maintaining accurate records. Follow grant funding requirements. Assist with email communications and interest/membership listing. Participation in promoting and creating WHA events.
