In 2014 the University of Wisconsin-Extension of Green Lake County, WI and Wisconsin Hickory Products, Inc. were awarded funding from the UW-Center for Cooperatives to establish a state-level association focused on Hickory.  The WHA's goals include coordinating & educating property owners and interested parties who have hickory, want to have hickory, or desire to develop hickory resources.  In this age of agro-forestry, we wish to promote the utilization of this naturally occurring resource within Wisconsin.

The inaugural organizational meeting was held on December 13, 2014, where, in addition to discussing the development of the organization's mission and potential by-laws, officers were nominated and elected. The following individuals have stepped forward as charter board members and have worked toward the further development of the organization.

Mike Starshak, President
Sarah Naparalla, Vice President
Carole DeCramer, Secretary
Kevin DeCramer, Treasurer
Wendy Stobbe, Member at Large
